Our Happy Boy...

Matthew turned 5 months on Sunday. He is getting to be so big. I love watching him learn new things. He loves to play in his ladybug jumper. We got him to laugh a huge laugh that lasted for a good while the other night. Mike and I were both laughing every time he would start to laugh again. We have been trying to get him to laugh again but he hasn't done it as loud. It is the sweetest thing to hear him laugh. My heart was filled with so much love and joy from hearing him laugh. He is getting really good at lying on his stomach now. He can roll from his stomach to his back depending on what mood he is in. Yesterday he just kept on staring at his hands and analyzing them high in the air. It was so cute to watch him do it quietly, moving his hand from side to side; wiggling his fingers. Then he would bring his hand up close to his face and just stared at it, not making a sound at all. He has also started to noticed his feet and toes moving and has tried grabbing his toes and wants so badly to bring his foot to his mouth. He loves to read books with bright colors and to hear the sound of Mommy and Daddy's voices. He get so excited when we read books to him at night. We will lay beside him on both sides, while we will take turns reading to him. He will sometimes turn red in the face from being so excited and from wanting to hold the book. While reading him the books he will hold on to the book, pull the book forward to suck on the corner, squeal at the top of his lungs, or waves his arms and legs back and forth. Reading to him is one of my favorite ways to spend time with him. He is now a busy little boy always looking around the room at the objects and colors. Whatever you put in his hands now goes in his mouth. He loves to put the blanket or burp rag over his face or will attack them in his mouth. I love watching him attack the burp rags because he shakes his head back and forth really fast while grunting. He is such a silly boy. He already has a funny and silly personality. When he smiles he normally always opens his mouth really big at the person he is smiling at. Matthew drools a ton and loves to suck on his hands. You will hear him make a smacking noise from sucking so much and so hard. He is almost to the point of sitting up by himself. He will be lying down in Dad's arms and he will pull himself up little by little and then he will give it his all and be sitting up in Dad's lap. He is good at letting you know what he likes and doesn't like through his different cries. I love how when he looks at you with his big eyes and stares at you intently. He is so smart, handsome, silly, and happy. I love him so very much! Mike is so good with him. I love watching the two interact with each other. They have so much fun vocalizing together. I love the both of them so much! I have so blessed to have Mike as my husband/friend and as Matthew's Dad. He cares so much about the both of us. When he gets home from work we always have family hugs and kisses. I love how Mike is so involved and knows so much about our son.
